I really need to make it back to NAHBS one day
For the past couple days, I have been looking at pictures from the 2018 North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show, which took place this past weekend in Hartford, Connecticut . You can see quite a few bikes from that show here, and check out these two posts at Bike Rumor to see the winners in the different categories. While I am throwing out links, VeloNews has a really nice gallery of details from show bikes that is worth checking out. I would also encourage you to take a look at photographer Brad Quartuccio’s images from the past 11 NAHBS events. He has some really good shots of pretty amazing bicycles in his portfolio.

Back when my Bicycle Design blog was active, I used to pay close attention to what was happening at NAHBS. In all of those years though, I was only able to attend the show once, in 2014. I am sharing a few of my shots of favorite bikes from the 2014 show here, but you can read my old blog post about it here for more details and a few additional photos.

NAHBS generally alternates between the two coasts, so the 2019 show will be in Sacramento, California. I probably won’t make it to that one, but next time it is back east, I really need to put it on my calendar. If you are a bike geek like me, it is definitely a show that you should check out at least once…but every year would be even better.
