WHAT IT IS

Pledging is good for you, your employees, the value of your company...and oh yeah, your community (#quadruplewin). More than ever, companies (and their employees)  are civically minded and prioritize having a positive impact on the world.

Pledge 1% Boston encourages and challenges founders and CEOs to pledge 1% of equity (either personal or company equity), product, and employee time for their communities, and help put that intent into action.

Pledge 1% Boston is the local embodiment of the broader global movement, Pledge 1%. The movement was sparked by three companies in 2014 - Salesforce, Atlassian, and Rally - to change the world through inspiring early–stage corporate philanthropy. TUGG and the Boston Foundation are excited to spearhead this movement in Boston.

HOW IT WORKS

You make the pledge, we help you implement it. The sooner you start, the easier it is to incorporate the pledge into the DNA of your company. By its nature, the Pledge is meant to evolve with you as you grow from seed stage to post-IPO.

You don’t have to have all the answers today, you simply have to want to be a part of the movement and join together with the Boston tech ecosystem to make an impact.

Who is the Boston Foundation?

As Greater Boston’s community foundation, the Boston Foundation devotes its resources to building and sustaining a vital, prosperous city and region, where justice and opportunity are extended to everyone. In everything they do, the Boston Foundation seeks to broaden participation, foster collaboration and heal racial, ethnic and community divisions in Greater Boston.

Who is TUGG?

TUGG (Technology Underwriting Greater Good) is the nonprofit arm of Boston’s tech community. The organization engages and connects tech entrepreneurs and their companies with the most innovative social enterprises serving under-resourced youth in Greater Boston.
