Decidedly with Mistletoe

Alternate cover edition of ASIN B07F5PRW4J

Kissing-under-the-mistletoe rule #1: never kiss your ex-fiancée.
Oops.

My plans for the Christmas break include:
1. Drive to Lake Tahoe,
2. Learn to ski,
3. Enjoy hot, earth-shattering sex (and end my sex drought!),
4. Meet my Forever Love under the mistletoe.

Right—the last one was my friend’s prediction, but you never know. What I don’t count on is a flat tire, a major blizzard, and for Liam Quade, my ex-fiancé and the man who broke my heart ten years ago, to come to my rescue.

Oh, damn.

****
While driving back to San Francisco to spend Christmas with my family, I discover Ava stuck on the side of the road. She’s the woman I was forced to walk away from ten years ago.

And now, she’s the woman who would rather be coated with honey and fed to a hungry bear than to be within ten feet of me. Ouch.

I drive Ava to a nearby inn to wait out the storm…and end up kissing her under the mistletoe.

But Christmas magic is in the air and I quickly realize that I never stopped loving her. As secrets from ten years ago begin to unravel, I have to prove to her our love is worth a second chance.

I have to prove to Ava that I’m her forever.

So I admit I read a Christmas novella in September just because it was the next book in the series. And I really missed the whole Christmas experience with the day not even being in sight but the book was still super sweet.

And I was so glad to get Liam's story. He was someone I found interesting in the last book but I was kind of expecting a different story for the ex military man. But that's just me and I was happy with the story.

Ava was awesome. She was so strong and self assured in every area of her life except her love life. I loved that she put her grandmother in her place and stood up for herself.

And although second chance romance isn't normally my thing this one was focused on the present. And I was able to forgive their stupid miscommunication since it happened when they were both young and stupid. Plus I appreciated the circumstances that caused the earlier problems had already been dealt with.

For a quick novella this was a great well paced read that I really enjoyed and now I am off to read Decidedly by Chance.

3.5 - 4 Liam and Ava Stars

This was a sweet Christmassy romance to finish up the holiday season on. I really enjoy this author's work and haven't read a book by her yet that I have not enjoyed. I wasn't so keen on the male narrator as I listened on audiobook so if I was rating the narration , it would be a 3 star for that.

This was a second chance romance following a 10 year separation after Liam ended their engagement and went off to join the Navy SEAL's. He wasn't entirely honest about his reasons but I think I agreed with him - had he married her at 24 , it probably wouldn't have lasted. Ten years older, wiser and hotter, Liam knows that this time he will do whatever it takes to convince Ava they should be together. Both characters were very likeable. There's humour , passion and some heartfelt moments too. The pace of the story was good and I never lost interest.

Narrators : Tim Paige and Isabelle Ruther
Listening Time: 3h 5m

HEA? Yes - and great to catch up with the main characters from the other books in the series.
Cheating? No - Ava was married to another man during their separation but it was an epic fail. Liam never dated seriously after Ava.

This is a second chance love story. This novella follows Kelsey's brother from the first By the Bay book, Liam. Liam, an former Navy Seal, runs into his ex-fiancee from a decade ago, Ava, on the roads to Tahoe after Ava's car breaks down. This story of course takes place during the holidays and if you are a fan of holiday love stories, you should definitely read this one.

Personally I have been waiting for Liam's story since the first By the Bay book...and it didn't disappoint. Right away, I loved the interactions between Ava and Liam. Lindenblatt does a great job of showing how much people can change when so much time has passed, but how we never truly lose the bond we have with the people from our past. She was also very smart to set this novella in a snowed in inn over the course of around two days. This helps with the believability of how quickly events take place.

Although I, personally, would have loved a full length novel. I was bummed that it was over so quick. But I'm greedy that way.

Lastly don't let the fact that this is part of a series scare you away, it can totally be read as a stand alone....and if you do happen to be a fan of the series then you're going to love the epilogue.

What a great 4 star novella that was at the same time a second chance romance.

Ava and Liam share a past and they never thought they’d ever see each other again. Ava heads over to Lake Tahoe for Christmas vacation and ends up in the ditch, who rescues her? None other then Liam. Old feelings resurface and they get a shot at a second chance.

A beautifully written second chance romance that was captivating and very entertaining. It was short so I didn’t get to connect with the characters as much as I would have like.

Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. Although this is part of By The Bay series, it safe to say it a nice addition. I recommend this story.

Christmas books seem to bring out intense feelings in most readers – some love them, some hate them. Myself – I love them and although this book is set during the Christmas holidays and has mistletoe in the title, it is more about self discovery and second chance love.

Ava was a strong character and I liked her a lot. Having her true love devastate her years before, she continued her life, making mistakes and having to face her future. Despite pressures from family, she was making her own way.

Liam, also another strong character, was going through life doing what he did best. Despite leaving his heart behind, he had moved on.

Circumstances brought them back together and fate led them back to their love for one another.

A quick, heartfelt read by Stina Linenblatt, Decidedly with Mistletoe will be a highly recommended holiday read from me. 5 Stars #2OCCMS

A fast paced read about hope, Christmas magic, second chance & forever love💖

I'm so happy to see that Liam got a book, I loved him in the previous books, & he deserved his HEA.

Ava is perfect for him: Strong, Smart, & taking no shit.

Courtesy of her grandmother creating misunderstandings 10 years ago (I hate her😬), their engagement came to an end.

Years later, they've got a 2nd chance in the magic of Christmas.

I'm happy how Ava stood up to her Granny & How Liam (though clumsy) fought for love.

The inn they were in due to the storm is seriously a magical place so is her friend- Zoe's family legend😉.

P.s. the epilogue was beautiful, loved seeing the gang & Kelsey's surprise😘

Ava Versteeg is ready for her holiday, especially since she'll be nowhere near her family that disapprove of the choices she's made for her life. However, getting to her destination of Lake Tahoe proves more difficult than she thought when she gets a flat tire. Luckily, someone comes to her rescue. Except her knight in shining armor just happens to be her ex-fiancé, Liam Quade. Will she give Liam another chance?

I have loved this series from the very first book, but I've got to say that I found this one the most enjoyable because Ava and Liam have quite the past history. The way this story started drew me in immediately and had me liking the heroine right away, as it's understandable why she needs the vacation she's taking. Since her family aren't very understanding. So, why would she want to be treated like a child when she's an adult? Really, I felt sorry for her when it came to the conversations she has with her grandmother and I'm glad she stuck up for herself and didn't give in.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, as Liam broke her heart and it's hard for her to get beyond that. Yet, I'm glad that she did because secrets from the past needed to come to light. Moreover, I really liked the hero. He's confident, charming and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over, even though that doesn't seem like it's going to be easy in the beginning when they come face-to-face for the first time in so many years. While the heroine, she's feisty when it comes to dealing with her family and sticking up for herself. Why should they get to tell her what to do? She's a grown woman who can make her own decisions. I also liked how resilient and courageous she is in dealing with her family and all that she's been through because of her ex. He is such a jerk that didn't deserve such a kind and caring person as Ava and she's lucky she escaped the relationship when she did. Besides, money doesn't mean anything when you're not happy and I'm glad that Ava fought for her happiness when it comes to both her personal and professional lives.

Overall, Ms. Lindenblatt has delivered a fantastic read in this book where second chances are worth fighting for; the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance was delightful and special and does this couple's chemistry justice; and the ending had me loving how these two were determined to fight for their happy ever after, especially after what Ava learns to do with her past. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as Ava and Liam deserve the happiness they've found after the secrets and lies. I would recommend Decidedly with Mistletoe by Stina Lindenblatt, if you enjoy second chance romances; Christmas themed stories; or books by authors Erika Marks, Jane Diamond, Emma Hart and Rachel Lacey.

4.5 Stars!

Author Stina Lindenblatt's Decidedly With Mistletoe, definitely makes Christmas the most wonderful time of the year. It is a sexy read, replete with two well-defined main characters, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and magical mistletoe. This is the fourth book from the By The Bay series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Ava Versteeg is a successful children's book author and grade school teacher. Her extremely wealthy family, especially her harpy grandmother, do not find her career or relationship choices to be acceptable. In fact, Ava relinquished her trust fund in order to pursue her creative dreams.

Ava has really been looking forward to her Christmas break in Lake Tahoe, where she plans to learn to ski, experience mind-blowing sex and find her true love under the mistletoe. She travels from San Francisco through blizzard conditions when her tired car breaks down. Ava has no choice but to wait for the storm to subside. Luckily and ironically, she is rescued by former Navy SEAL Liam Quade, who just happens to be her ex-fiance who broke her heart ten years ago. Liam was happily en-route to see his family for the holiday, however, Ava's presence rekindles lots of old feelings. Ava and Liam end up sharing a room in a charming inn, where the spirit of Christmas is flourishing. Kissing under the mistletoe evolves into much more as they revisit the past and pursue their future as a couple.

This is both a fun and passionate love story. Ms. Lindenblatt nicely combines heat, drama and the magic of the Christmas season into this fast-paced romantic read. I immediately connected with both Ava and Liam, and I cheered them on as they rediscovered the love they once shared. Overall, this is a steamy book with a happy ending that will leave a smile on your face.

I don't read Christmas books... but it is September... so surely that is ok right?! LOL

Or at least that was what I told myself when I read the blurb for this book and felt the urge to read it.

It was everything I hoped it would be: sweet, charming, captivating 💓

I dare you not to have a smile from ear to ear at the end!

Oh Liam... lets not dawdle and go straight to single most captivating thing in the whole book: Liam! Lately I have been enjoying the sweet perfect male characters a little too much, Liam was wonderful to read. The guy made his mistakes in the past, but boy is he perfect now! And our feisty but also very sweet Ava definitely agrees :)

Their story is rather straightforward: they had their chance in the past, even got engaged. But they let Ava's family get in the way of their happiness and things ended. Ava moved on with her life eventually marrying and divorcing a cheating idiot and Liam focused on his career never having a serious relationship again. When their paths cross years later it is obvious they still have feelings for each other and that they have enough chemistry to burn down a village! -seriously-

And that is pretty much it. There wasn't a super complicated plot with tons of drama going on. Yah, they had a few obstacles to get through but nothing earth chattering. And that is why I loved the book so much. It was the perfect book to read by the fireplace for a couple of hours and forget that the rest of the world exists (or in my case at the hairdresser while my kiddo got her hair cut done).
As much as I love my dark romances and a fair share of drama sometimes we romance lovers just need a feel good romance and Decidedly with Mistletoe was exactly that!

Decidedly with Mistletoe is a sweet second chance romance from Stina Lindenblatt in the By the Bay series. I really like this series -- it's relatively low drama and perfect for when you want a romance that isn't overly full of angst.

Ava hasn't had much luck with men. Ten years ago, her fiance dumped her for money and the holiday season has her running to Tahoe to escape the thoughts of her cheating ex-husband's wedding. In spite of this, she has a upbeat attitude and she loves what she's doing as a grade school teacher by day and author by night, even if her rich grandmother doesn't approve.

On her way to Lake Tahoe, she encounters a snowstorm and a flat tire and is rescued by Liam, the fiance who left her ten years ago. There's a lot more to the story of why they split than either one of them knows, but it's pretty clear from the start that the spark between them still burns.

A few days together stranded in the snow at a small homey resort is just the antidote for what both Liam and Ava need. I really loved Ava - she's strong and sassy and even though she still has feelings for Liam, she doesn't cave to falling back with him ... immediately. Liam has to work for what he wants, since he still have feelings for Ava too. My only complaint is that I wished the story was just a little bit longer. It left me wanting more from these two.

Overall, a sweet, sexy story about a second chance at love that left me with a warm heart and a smile on my face.

Decidedly with Mistletoe
by Stina Lindenblatt
Narrated by Tim Paige, Isabelle Ruther
Series By the Bay #4

Ava has not had much luck at relationships. Dumped 10 years ago, she still has not found her soulmate. She decides to go on a Christmas holiday, away from her thoughtless family and with the luck of mistletoe find her man. But can it be that easy? Liam finds Ava stuck on the side of the road. And isn't he surprised when he is the one that left her 10 years earlier? This second chance romance is sweet and put me right in the holiday spirit in September!!!! Ava is a great character. I love her spunk and independence. She is quirky and is comfortable in her own skin. Liam is lovable. He gives her a holiday to remember and in the midst of it all realizes she has always been the one for him. Will these two find their way back? Will the hurt of their separation every disappear? And what about Ava's family? It's short, but it is packed with fun characters, wonderful winter activities and peppermint hot chocolate! Nothing can be better than that!

Storytellers Tim Paige and Isabelle Ruther give a fantastic narration to this book. Paige as Liam is a perfect fit. Rugged, outdoorsy and definitely a romantic, Liam has a warmth in his voice easily performed by Paige. Ruther finds the quirky yet confident sound that fits with Ava. Together it's a Merry Christmas!

Let me start with saying that I LOVE Christmas stories, they are my crack. So, imagine my excitement when one of my favourite authors in Stina Lindenblatt writes a Christmas novella, merry early Christmas to me.

After inhaling Decidedly with Mistletoe, I have found a new story to add to my yearly seasonal reading list. I LOVED it. There was something special about this second chance at love romance that stole my heart and had me reading it in one sitting (okay, this totally happened because I was engrossed in the story).

Who said mistletoe doesn’t work, not Liam and Ava that’s for sure.

Ava and Liam were always meant to be and if fate decides that its time for them to be together, then so be it. Nothing will stop them from falling in love all over again not even a snow storm or a interfering grandmother.

You will be captivated as they fall head over heels in love again while stuck at a quirky hotel during a snow storm. The chemistry between Ava and Liam is smoking hot, the love is heart-warming and the ending will leave you grinning from ear to ear and so ready for the holiday season to start.

Thank you Stina Lindenblatt for this perfect addition to my Christmas reading list

(audiobook) Are you looking for a Holiday romance with a touch of magic? You could do worse than this book.

I didn’t exactly buy the whole ‘I still love you ten years later (though I’ve been with many partners since)’, but I could suspend my disbelief–maybe it’s the magic. I had more trouble with Ava’s incredibly toxic family, though it was needed to explain her life choices and her insecurities.

I really enjoyed the interactions between Ava and Liam though. They were a cute couple–and quite sexy in the sheets too. But what I really loved are the inn’s owners. But you’ll have to read the book to understand why!

Narrators–the same in the whole series–did a good job, as usual. It’s a good audiobook to get, though on the short side.

Quickie

- Series: By the bay #4 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #Holiday romance #second chance #forced cohabitation
- Triggers: past cheating
- Main couple: Ava Versteeg & Liam Quade
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + the inn’s owners were adorable (a little bit of Holiday magic in the air)
- – I felt the reconnection was too quick, 10 years is a long time to still love someone

My Christmas reading binge is back on track! Like the rest of the books in the By the Bay series Decidedly with Mistletoe is a winner. This is the fourth book in the series. You do not have to read them in order for them to make sense. However, like most series there are shared characters and it may add to your reading enjoyment to know who they are and how they fit into the lives of the main characters. So, did I like Decidedly with Mistletoe? You betcha!

This is a second chance romance that neither Ava or Liam saw coming. Ava is defying her family, something she never did until recently, and is going to Lake Tahoe for Christmas instead of joining her family in the Bahamas. Liam is heading to his sister’s for Christmas after successfully finishing a search and rescue mission. Ava encounters a flat tire that leaves her on the side of the road in the middle of a snowstorm. Liam happens to stop to help, not knowing who it is. And the adventure begins…….

There’s some baggage to get through for both Liam and Ava. There’s also a lot of catching up to do. There’s a little drama, but nothing you wouldn’t expect. Decidedly with Mistletoe is a quick, cute, and captivating story.

4.5 Heartwarming, Quirky, Steamy Stars!
This second chance romance is quirky, heartwarming, and very sexy! After a couple failed relationships, Ava is determined to find true love. She is heading to the snowy slopes for a Christmas vacation. When a flat tire sends her into the ditch, she never expected to be rescued by the one man who truly broke her heart ten years ago. Liam, Kelsey's older brother from the first book, Decidedly Off Limits, is that man. He is on his way to spend Christmas with Kelsey and his best friend Trent. When he sees Ava on the side of the road, he hopes he just might have the second chance he never thought would happen. He thought he was doing the right thing, leaving her before his deployment, but now he knows differently. As they get snowbound with some endearing, quirky characters, and the magic of the season, they realize they never stopped loving each other. I had so much fun reading this charming, heartwarming, steamy story. It was the perfect addition to this series.

This is a fantastic edition to the Decidedly with series by Stina Lindenblatt. A seasonal second chance Romance taking place at Christmas time, this book is about Liam who is Kelsey's brother (Kelsey's story is the first book in the series Decidedly Off Limits). Ava is the one that Liam let get away 10 years ago through a Lie and a deceptive manipulative grandmother. So a chance meeting on the side of the road were Ava's car is stranded, stirs up past feeling and the spark from all those years past reignite once again.
Woven into the story is the magic of Christmas,a mistletoe legend of finding your true love and you have yourself a perfect holiday story that gives you all the warm feelings inside. It's sweet, it's sexy, and so swoon worthy a beautiful quick read that does not lack in details and romance. I highly recommend it with a cup of hot chocolate, and a blanket snuggled up on a chilly evening it will give you your festive fix. I Loved and enjoyed every word.

Ack Liam! Overprotective, but sweet and caring – Liam! I was so excited to read your story, and it did not disappoint.

Though I could drone on and on about that cover (let’s face it, the minute the author indicated that the model was indeed shirtless in the snow, I was more intrigued), it was the content that blew me away.

Liam and Ava were once engaged, and because of some circumstances within their control, and some outside, they broke up. Ten years ago. Both had misconceptions about the other. Both still had feelings for the other. Ten years later, they meet again, and the sparks fly, albeit hesitantly on Ava’s part.

This was the type of feel-good story that I could read over and over. I absolutely loved it. It was like a mature fairy tale, and an absolutely great addition to the series. It made me want to go back to read Decidedly Off Limits to catch all those scenes with Liam again.

Decidedly With Mistletoe by Stina Lindenblatt is book four in the By the Bay Series. Decidedly With Mistletoe can easily be read as standalone. The previous books are Decidedly Off Limits; Decidedly With Baby; Decidedly With Love.

Decidedly With Mistletoe is Ava and Liam's story. Ava Versteeg is on christmas break at Lake Tahoe. She is a divorced teracher and wants to chill and have fun-wink.
Liam Quade is an ex-Navy SEAL and he fibds her stranded in a ditch on the side of the road. Both share a past. He drives her to her inn and a bit of christmas magic and a certain mistletoe bring the exes back together.
Decidedly With Mistletoe is a well written story with lovable characters and the author gets the christmas spirit just right. I liked the writing and the words, the characters and the story and give 4,5 stars.

So glad Liam got his story!

This is a quick easy, steamy, holiday read. It’s very short, so more novella than the full length of the others in the series. This is Liam and Ava’s story. Ten years ago, Liam broke both of their hearts by ending their engagement before taking off to become a Navy SEAL. Obviously there’s more to that story. It was a quick read, insta-lust, insta-love. In a full length read, I would have been annoyed a bit by the fact that Ava had been so devastated by him, thought he chose money over her, yet swooned as soon as they touched after 10 years. But suspending that notion because it was a novella, it was enjoyable. Because it is such a short read there is an added bonus scene from the first book characters, Kelsey and Trent. I’m thankful for seeing Liam get his HEA.

Decidedly With Mistletoe by Stina Lindenblatt is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit... with mistletoe.

The story was full of drama, passion, and a chance of falling in love again. Ava and Liam's story was beautiful and bittersweet - they were such a good couple together, and I am glad they got their second chance. Plus there's beautiful white snow and mistletoe in the book, so what more would you want in a Christmas novella!

Decidedly with Mistletoe is a great short sweet novella to get you ready with Christmas cheer. It was a cute little book, and it will put a smile on your lips from all the happiness between the characters.

Awesome!

Ava and Liam. Ava comes from a wealthy family and Liam.....was not. Ava had her life mapped out for her and wanted to go to Law School. She had a trust fund and in order for her not to lose it, her grandmother threatened to revoke it if Liam didn't leave her. He wanted a good life for he and for her to attain her dreams, without the trust, she would not be able to so he broke her heart and she didn't even know why. Chance encounter on a snowy day and the two being their journey back together. True love conquers all.

I was fortunate enough to have received an ARC of, Decidedly with mistletoe from Stina. I will admit, I really hate novella's, I won't buy them unless they are integral to a series.
I am a fan of Stina Lindenblatt's books, and I have to say, I enjoyed reading this novella, it was well written, and has a good storyline and great characters. Well done Stina, I look forward to reading your next book.

I was so excited when Stina announced that Decidedly With Mistletoe would be coming out and I was not disappointed. Ever since reading Decidedly Off Limits, I have been waiting for Liam's story, and even though it was shorter than the last 3 books in the series, it still had all the best parts of Stina's stories. I highly recommend this series!

Short, sweet read of second-chances. Liam and Ava were manipulated by her condescending, pretentious grandmother into breaking their engagement.

Ten years later, they reunite by way of a broken down car on the side of an embankment and rediscover their spark hasn’t extinguished.
