Are you addicted to your smartphone? I know I am. But here's the thing, instead of planning to join AA (Android Anonymous), there's a phone that can help you get a much-needed electronic detox. A start-up based in the States has designed a phone with zero apps and can only perform basic tasks.  It's called the Light Phone.
Before you say this is what Kenya has in 'Kabambe' and 'Kadunda' phones, this new phone has 4G network. Are you sold yet?  It has a unique design that resembles a smartphone and it can call you a taxi as well. The first version of the Light Phone sold over 10,000 pieces in 50 countries.
Forget about Twitter, Facebook and Instagram because this phone doesn't support social media. Worry not though, it still allows you to send and receive SMS's - welcome to 2005. You can also program it to give you simple directions.
That's it. A smartphone with no apps, allows you to send and receive messages, has 4G network, allows taxi and direction programming and an alarm and calendar to keep you on track.
I'm selling my current phone for the new 'Light Phone 2'. Is anyone buying? Here is what Twitter had to say about the phone. Many people surprisingly gave it a consideration.
