Chicago Marriott Downtown & Magnificent Mile New Year’s Eve Greek Wedding – Mike + Kiki

The crowning of the bride and groom is the highlight of a traditional Greek ceremony. The crowns are blessed by the priest, and a ribbon connects the two, symbolizing unity between the couple and God.Both working at the same elementary school, Kiki first noticed Mike stealing glances in the hallway. One cup of coffee in the teacher’s lounge and the rest is history! The two wed on New Year’s Eve in Annunciation Cathedral, the ornate architecture providing the perfect backdrop for the their first kiss as a married couple. Family and friends rung in the New Year at (reception location), complete with champagne toasts, dinner, and dancing. It was truly a great experience capturing their love. To the bride and groom- I wish you all the happiness life can offer! Here’s to 2017!

It To say Kiki The bridal party got ready for the big day at the bride This dress! I have no words. It was so stunning on the hanger, but even more stunning on the bride! Parents of the bride saying goodbye one last time before she leaves as a single woman one last time.  Then the dad took her to the bus that was waiting to take her to her groom.  We were lucky enough to have the first look on the terrace of the Marriott. The city provided such a beautiful backdrop for for such a special moment.  Chicago is the best place to call home! And the best place for a wedding!!! Beautiful portraits of the bride and groom! Union Station is such a fun place to shoot, the grand stair case tall ceilings providing such a gorgeous setting! The bridesmaids looked so elegant in their floor length black gowns, and the groomsmen looks just as handsome in their bowties! Mike often making Kiki laugh. Everyone can Holiday cheer was everywhere we went!  Each bridesmaid had a slightly different style dress. This allows each woman to incorporate her own style into the wedding, while the bridal party still looks unified! There was so much detail in this Greek Orthodox church. Everywhere you turned there were more beautiful paintings, ornate wooden carvings, and color!  Tradition runs deep in a Greek Orthodox ceremony. It was beautiful to see how much both the bride and groom appreciated the meaning of the day. Led by the officiant, the bride and groom walk around the alter three times. This is to show God gratitude for all of His blessings.  Mike and Kiki as they share their first kiss as husband and wife! In between the ceremony and the reception we were able to sneak outside for some quick pictures in the city! I love the custom cake toppers this couple had! It was such great way to incorporate their own personal style into their traditionally modern wedding day. Introducing....the newlyweds! The guests erupted in cheers and applauds as the new couple made their entrance. Time for dessert! This cake was not only beautiful, but delicious too! The first dance is always such a special part of the reception. The look the groom gave his new wife was so sweet and tender! Both family and friends gave toasts at the reception, filled with both laughs and tears! It was so fun to watch the bride and groom A Greek weddings means lots of Greek dancing!! The energy in the room was contagious! All guests, both young and old, found their way to the dance floor at some point during the night! A The groom and some guests taking a whole new meaning to dropping it low! With drinks in hand, family and friends spent the entire night on the dance floor- it was a spectacular sight to see! Champagne and party hats...is there a better way to ring in the New Year?  A kiss at the stroke of midnight...and lots of confetti! I had such blast welcoming 2017 with such a fun-loving, passionate couple.  And that
