WABASHA — A skier died Saturday after hitting a tree at Coffee Mill Ski Area , according to media reports.
The Post Bulletin has not been able to verify the death. The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office and Coffee Mill manager Rob Sill both declined comment on Sunday. Wabasha Police Chief Joe Stark was not immediately available.
According to reports, a 19-year-old female from Rogers collided with a tree at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. She was reportedly a "novice" skier who was attempting to traverse one of the ski hill's more difficult courses.
The victim reportedly passed away en route to Rochester via Mayo One.
Authorities have not released the victim's name, pending notification of the next of kin.
