Hi all,

Developing character in our children sometimes means choosing the inconvenient option. Check out my Fails & Successes video below to find out if I took the Character forming option this week.

Do you ever feel the pressure to be the 'Perfect Parent'? I do. But it isn't healthy for us, neither is it a helpful example for our children. As a Non-Perfect Dad I'm learning the value of being open with my children and working on my weaknesses. In the Big Three are some great challenges to help us be honest with ourselves and our kids.

The other week I gave the Rugby Referee at my sons match a thank you card, you can find out why over on my Blog.

Weekend Warm-Up's Big Three - which are you going to do?

Are your children aware of what you are wrestling with in life? So often parents present ‘perfection’ or the ‘super-parent’ to our children. It’s far better for our children to know we struggle and don’t always have the answer to life’s challenges. Weekly have a time with your children when you share together what you are wrestling with at the moment.

Is your child saving their pocket money for anything? Building character in our children so they can consistently work towards long term goals is key, but not easy. Can you inspire your children to have patience in small ways? Patience is often a character trait which sets successful people apart.

Can you get 20 Clicks for ignoring facebook/email/social media this weekend? Every time you feel the need to reach for your device and don’t you get a click. Be present with your children and give them your undivided attention this weekend.
