Woman arrested for stealing purse in gas station bathroom

IONIA COUNTY, MI -- A woman was arrested for stealing a purse at a gas station Sunday.

According to a release from the Ionia County Sheriff's Office, police were notified of a larceny at 12:59 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the Pilot Gas Station on 7205 S. State Rd. A purse was stolen from a women's restroom.

Deputy Jason Pattok and Deputy Austin Granger were near the Pilot Gas Station and noticed the suspect's vehicle driving west bound on Grand River Avenue. The deputies pulled the vehicle over and learned that the victim was from Colorado, had a flight leaving from Detroit and was without her identification.

Police recovered the stolen items and arrested the woman who stole the items. The property was returned to the owner.
