Do you hear that? It's the glorious sound of stereotypes shattering everywhere. According to new and totally scientific research, ladies might be more naturally fit than men. (Sincerest apologies, gym bros.)

In the study published in the journal of Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, researchers found women are able to process oxygen faster than men when they start to exercise, which not only places less strain on the body's cells, but it also indicates a superior aerobic system.

"While we don't know why women have faster oxygen uptake, this study shakes up conventional wisdom. It could change the way we approach assessment and athletic training down the road." —Thomas Beltrame, PhD
