For over 20 years, the annual Thibodaux Christmas Parade has brought joy to the city.

This year’s parade will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at the John L. Guidry Stadium at Nicholls State University.

Each year, the community comes together for the celebration, making it a unique city-wide event, Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce officials said.

Local businesses, dance groups, bands and more are scheduled to participate in this year’s event, including some new faces.

“The best thing about the Christmas parade is seeing the kids' faces light up when they see Santa and Mrs. Claus. I love seeing all the families come together and make an event out of it,” said Sarah Rodrigue, Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce executive assistant.

The parade will head to downtown Thibodaux from the stadium turning along Audubon Drive, Menard Street and Canal Boulevard before turning left onto West Second Street until it reaches the courthouse.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos at the courthouse along with refreshments provided by Thibodaux Family Church, chamber officials said.

For information, call the chamber at 446-1187.
