FREE COMMUNITY OPEN DAY AT THE BUREAU OF SILLY IDEAS

Come along to Club Silly Open Arch Day for FREE community outdoor arts activities!

Come and meet your neighbours, enjoy some free silly outdoor art and activities, games and more. There'll be robot wheelie bins, epic custard pie battles, marble run making, plus music and a bar. Something for everyone!

The arches open between 1:00pm - 5:30pm, Saturday 9th July...
and there's plenty for everyone of all ages!

  • Play with the racing Wheelie Bins, Sid and Nancy!

  • Build a giant marble run with our partners from the United Nations Board of Significant Inspiration!

  • Join in an EPIC community custard pie battle!

  • Plus there'll be music and a bar, so come and enjoy an afternoon in the arches, meet your neighbours and have a silly time!

Club Silly is a playground for creating, exploring and testing new work, supported with access to the resources of the Bureau of Silly Ideas in Brixton.

We make room for the eccentrics with ideas, the artists with something to say, the makers with something to show us, and the audiences hungry for something silly.

We also know that it can be a lonely place out there in the wild for artists doin’ it for themselves. Club Silly is a community for artists and audiences; it’s a supportive environment, and somewhere you can come for a chinwag, a chill-out, or be cheeky.

Then stay for an evening of ridiculousness; games, massages, and performances like no other!

Club Silly is all about giving bizarre artists (bizzartists) a platform to share what they're working on; especially if it's the special kind of weird art that you can't show anywhere else. We've got a super line-up of strange performances, games, VR silliness and more!

Plus we have an in-house masseuse so that you can get a massage while you watch the show!

Doors for the show open at 7pm and tickets are Pay What You Want. All of the proceeds go to paying our artists and keeping our Club operational, so we can continue to grow our community and put on more events for local Brixton art lovers!

Come and see:

  • A wearable guitar play you a ballad!
  • A performed biography of the inventor of the British Sewer System!
  • Pole-dancing poetry, or Po(L)etry!
  • Vaudevillian magic tricks!
  • AND we're going to conduct some audience wide participatory life drawing with remote-controlled paint-filled robotic water pistols!

Definitely something to remember! Come and support local artists, local businesses and local communities!

ARCH DAY is a celebration of small and independent businesses based in railway arches across England and Wales. Created by The Arch Company and working with Network Rail and Transport for London, ARCH DAY is all about encouraging local people to visit their local arches and celebrate their spaces.
