IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
One of the first things I do when browsing for new games is check the reviews and discussion pages. Gauge the community, see how active things are, and especially in early access, how the creators interact with the players.
All of these are above and beyond the bar with Labyrinth, in my opinion.

The community is not toxic. In fact, there's a large group of dedicated players interacting actively and positively around the clock. It just doesn't take place here on Steam. We're on the Official Discord. https://discord.gg/labyrinth

The Development team is there too. And they're just as active as the players. We're all discovering and discussing the meta (it changes on a weekly, sometimes even daily basis) together. When something comes along that completely dominates the meta, the developers are all ears when it comes to listening, discussing, and even implementing player suggested changes and tweaks. That, to me, is one of the things that makes Labyrinth so great. The team behind it is commited to the game and the community.

Gameplay is asynchronous. You take a team of 3 heroes from 4 different classes and fight to the death against another player's (or your own/friend in Practice) A.I. controlled Boss on a grid based map.
Each hero has a deck of 20 cards you've selected. At various levels, heros also gain Stars. These are used for passive abilities that bolster other cards or the hero directly. Each hero at max level (5) has 10 Stars and each Perk has a Star cost.
Bosses have a deck of 10 cards you've selected. At max level (5) they have 15 Stars. In addition to Perks, you can also spend Stars on Lair cards. These can be minions, structures, or other things that begin the battle in play.

So if that sounds interesting, come join us!

I figured I'd write something up so potential new players don't think the game is dead or inactive.
I may copy/paste it as an updated review on the store page, as well.

good post! i can affirm that! took me some time to join the discord, and by far i am not the most active player in discord, but since joining discord, the love for this game grew even more! the positive and active community of players and developers, on top to this amazing game (alpha!!! there is much more to come!! <3) really makes up for a good vibe and a great experience!

when i do an in-game-purchase i really do it with the strong feelng to support a great team of indie-developers and a thriving game with so much wonderful potential that is developed in close contact with the community! just what gamers need ;)

this game is truly a pearl in this vast world of gaming out there! so happy to have found it!
