If you updated your iPhone to iOS 11.1 you maybe have noticed a weird bug: your iPhone or iPad autocorrects the letter i to an A with a crazy symbol beside it.
It’s annoying, makes typing messages a pain, and is a known issue that Apple is working on a fix for. In the meantime, Apple put up a Support page for the issue with a quick workaround for fixing it using Text Replacement.
To set things up you need to first go into the Settings menu on your device followed by General, then Keyboard, then Text Replacement.
From there, press the + sign and then type an upper-case “I” as the phrase and a lower-case “i” as the shortcut.
After you’re done, when you type an i your device will once again autocorrect it to I.
Apple plans to fix the problem in a future software update.
