Rihanna's decision to create 40 shades of Fenty Foundation has been sparking plenty of conversation lately, most of it overwhelmingly positive. Fans have praised her on social media for being truly inclusive by creating colors that work for albino women and women of color alike. And other brands are definitely taking note of the viral launch, too. Although Fenty isn't the first beauty brand to create a wide range of shades in their foundation line, it doesn't feel right for other companies to turn it into a competition. Make Up For Ever recently took to their Instagram to post a flat lay of their own foundation line, which admittedly includes a very wide range of colors. It was their caption, however, that caused Rihanna herself to clap back.

"40 shades is nothing new to us -👄- Since 2015, the #ultraHDfoundation released 40 shades for everyone’s unique skin tone understanding the difference between red and yellow undertones. With expertise, time and passion - we shall continue to develop and improve our products for pros, for you, for everyone," the caption read. The not-so-veiled reference to Fenty in the opening sentence didn't escape anyone's attention, least of all Rihanna's. She was quick to comment on the photo, writing, "lol. still ashy" and "shook." Naturally, her fans saw the clap back about two seconds later and added their own comments to the photo in support of Rihanna's hilarious response.

Make Up For Ever has yet to reply to Rihanna, but fans are definitely continuing to remind the brand of their obvious jab. Leave it to Rihanna to flawlessly handle Fenty shade and remind us why we can't get enough of both the singer and her viral makeup line.
