With Disney's D23 expo taking place over the weekend, you can expect to be overwhelmed by new nuggets of information regarding the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian.
A new poster for the show, which is produced by The Lion King's Jon Favreau, was revealed earlier today (August 23), and the first official trailer will drop later this evening.

In another piece of exciting news, Disney's chief executive Bob Iger has announced to Digital Spy and other media present at D23 that Agents of SHIELD star Ming-Na Wen will be joining the series.
On being cast in the show, Ming-Na said: "I'm such a geek girl, and [Disney] please just keep acquiring all these different franchises because I just keep getting employed by them.
"I have hit every bucket list thanks to Disney. I used to pray to God, Buddha and the Force when I was a little girl, so it's astounding to me."

At the moment, not much is known about Ming-Na's role in the series, but we can expect to learn more over the course of the weekend's expo.
The Mandalorian's first season – set five years after the events of The Return of the Jedi – is due to premiere on Disney streaming service Disney+ later this year, with Favreau having already started work on a second season.
The series takes place "after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order", and follows "a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic".
The Mandalorian will drop on November 12, the day Disney+ launches.
