It’s one of the most important issues facing communities of color today, and we are pleased to announce an important leader has agreed to moderate the discussion of police reform at the third annual Wisconsin Leadership Summit.
After seven years at the helm of Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee, Griselda Aldrete took over as executive director of the Milwaukee Police and Fire Commission in September 2019. The FPC took the controversial step of demoting Police Chief Alfonso Morales over the summer after his department used tear gas and other chemical agents to control and disperse protesters.

Griselda announced in July 2020 that she would not seek reappointment, citing “dysfunction … baked into the FPC governance structure for far too long, with too many interests pulling in too many dissonant direction.”
It certainly won’t be an easy conversation, but it’ll be a critical one, and only those registered for the Wisconsin Leadership Summit will be able to listen in and ask questions.
