“Volunteers are not paid not because they are worthless but because they are priceless,” this is a powerful quote that some of us might have encountered that tells us the true value of how vital volunteers are. It may be when they tirelessly go from place to place or engaging in conversations, volunteers are truly an inspiration.

The Alabang chapter of HAPI has always been one of those that shine the brightest and easily one of the most active groups in the organization. From their fun events that bring smiles to all the adorable HAPI Kids with their year-end party to their resilient fight in stopping the spread of COVID-19, and to their inspiring feeding programs that initiate smiles to everyone, it is always been a joy to witness the success of HAPI Alabang.

This time the volunteers are in the spotlight when HAPI CEO Javan Lev Poblador together with HAPI CFO Mutya Valenzuela presented them with certificates of recognition and appreciation. “Kayo Naman” which can be translated to “it’s your turn” was held on the 20th day of September 2021 at Purok 7C Ilaya, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Their steadfast effort, outstanding work, and constant support to Humanist Alliance Philippines International earned them these humble awards.

It is worth mentioning that they have been a strong foundation of the organization since 2014 with the essential guidance and leadership of their Lead Convenor Jamie Martinez. Their projects such as a triumphant community pantry, reading room, and emergency relief operations are also extraordinary work for the betterment of humanity.

HAPI Alabang people accepted their awards with glee and admiration. This goes to show how volunteers are truly what makes an organization.

With the continued wave of hopeful people that turns to HAPI Alabang for help and hope, we are sure that the best works from them are just going to continue from here on out!
