Listen to John Williams’ new theme for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

You can’t go to Star Wars land without a proper musical accompaniment.

You’ve caught glimpses of what it looks like to be inside Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, now you can hear what it sounds like. Sorta.

Lucasfilm today released “Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Overture Suite,” by none other than John Williams. Because if you’re going to immerse yourself in the world of Star Wars, you need him and a blaze of London Symphony Orchestra brass walking with you.

StarWars.com says this suite “complement[s] the immersive world of Batuu,” which is the new world they cooked up and plopped down on top of Disneyland’s Big Thunder Ranch (RIP). That opens on May 31. The one at Disney World (technically, Disney’s Hollywood Studios) is expected to open at the end of August.

Williams, 87, scored all eight numbered episodes in the Star Wars saga; soundtracks for Rogue One and Solo included some themes Williams had composed for those films, but were originally composed by Michael Giacchino and John Powell, respectively.

If you’re going to Galaxy’s Edge here’s a look at the custom droids and lightsabers visitors may build there. Here’s also a story about how Didney plans to keep you from going all Man in Black and overstaying your welcome in Westworld.

For those who just want to buy or hear the song — it’s just one track — it’s available on all popular music services and Apple Music.
