Hey Elizabeth!

I continue to not be surprised when things work out in my business. I know that may sound overly confident, but after 8 years I have discovered that by continuing to be consistent in my work, my follow up and my marketing efforts the right clients arrive at the right time.

This week I had a client ask to take a month off and in the next email in my inbox, someone said yes to a follow up email I sent them asking if they were ready to get started on a proposal I'd made.

Why did it happen? Because I do the work. When I start to get nervous or notice that my next month will be quiet or a little soft I make sure to keep an eye on where my prospects are at. Who said they needed to talk to a business partner about the decision or sleep on it? Or they're traveling or had a big event and couldn't still until it was over? Is it time to follow up again? Usually it's the right time. So today, here's 3 Reasons I'm Not Surprised in My Business.
  1. I do the work. If I meet with someone or have a call about working together, they are going to get an email within one business day (and hopefully just an hour or two later) laying out everything we talked about along with all the examples/details/follow up pieces I told them I'd send. AND I ask if I forgot anything or they have additional questions.
  2. I follow up. People aren't excited to part with their hard earned money and we all know it's easier to make money and focus on clients then focus ON our business. I get it, I do the same thing. That's why I follow up a few days later.
  3. I have consistent Marketing Efforts. I blog, I post and engage on social media, I show up at networking events and have a MONTHLY newsletter. I have opt-in options on my website to learn more about me and the way I work. I do things on a regular basis so that you don't have a chance to forget about me, but hopefully in a way that's not overwhelming or annoying!
If you are not feeling as confident in your business - start with these 3 things:
  1. What work aren't you getting done when you talk to a prospective client?
  2. What additional follow up should you consider?
  3. What marketing efforts aren't as consistent as they could be?

Summer is a great time to reevaluate what's working in your business and what could use some streamlining and tweaking. We're half way through the year. What needs to be adjusted as we cruise through the last half of 2019?

Woof!

Weekend Getaway

It was way too long since we got over to the coast with Norm and he deserved a vacation for all his hard work protecting the house from noises and Amazon deliveries and the usual potential security breaches.

We had a great weekend over in Gearhart and also got down to Oswald West State Park which is a great little hike and a gorgeous cove that was PERFECT for playing with Norm!
