The brand new Chanel Les Beiges Summer 2020 collection is all about natural, glow and radiant skin and I have been having a good play with it. Here’s the low down with photos and swatches.

So as you’ll probably know if you’re a regular reader and or a Chanel fan, the brand recently reformulated and relaunched their iconic Soeil Tan de Chanel. It had a bit of an ingredients tweak and now contains hydrogenated coconut oil, which pleases some and outrages others! Personally I never owned the previous version, and only ever had it applied by makeup artists, but I believe that it performs very similarly. Again, there are some that say it doesn’t, but it’s what we have now.

You can read all about the Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in Soleil Tan Bronze Universel in my blog post. I also have an  application video.

I’m waffling about Soleil Tan because it has now joined the Chanel Les Beiges line up and forms part of the Summer 2020 collection. It sits really nicely in the complexion line up that I have here to show you.

What’s in the Chanel Les Beiges Summer 2020 Collection?

I have the new complexion products to show you here:

  • Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid in Sunkissed and Pearly Glow
  • Healthy Glow Illuminating Powder in Sand and Sunset
  • Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in Soleil Tan Bronze Universel

Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid Swatches

I love both the shades in the highlighting fluids and they can both be used in a few different ways. The bronzey one, Sunkissed, will be amazing for mixing into foundation that you want to warm up a bit. A great trick if you are finding any of your favourite foundations a little on the light side.

One pump of Sunkissed mixed into foundation will do the job perfectly whilst adding in some soft radiance.

  • Highlighting fluid that instantly illuminates the complexion
  • Gives a lit-from-within glow and a subtle, sun-kissed effect
  • Lightweight emulsion melts into the skin
  • Promises to keep skin comfortable and radiant for up to 8 hours
  • Algae extract prevents dehydration
  • Light-reflecting pigments create the healthy glow
  • Fluid polymers gives a soft finish and a second-skin effect.
  • Uses 69% water for a sensation of instant comfort
  • Delivers a sheer and transparent finish for a more luminous complexion
  • Available in two shades: Sunkissed, a pearly bronze, and Pearly glow, a pearly ivory

Swatches

I have both shades here to show you – Pearly Glow and Sunkissed:

They are both absolutely gorgeous – these are my kind of textures. They are similar to the Le Blanc Rosy Light Drops I featured, but with warmer, more summery tones.

You can apply them where you would highlighter, or as I said earlier, mix them into other mediums like your foundation, primer or moisturiser. A light layer alone under your foundation also works really well to illuminate your complexion.

Healthy Glow Illuminating Powder Swatches

I was super excited about these powders because I absolutely love the rope design of the pan and on the double-C on the casing.

The Swatches

I have both Sand and Sunset here:

The textures are smooth and creamy and I love the luminosity of both powders.

I’ll be using Sand over my foundation or moisturiser to softly highlight the high points of my face, or lightly all over with a big fluffy brush.

The Sunkissed shade, applied with a large fluffy brush, makes a beautiful softly radiant bronzer for my skintone. It also offers the added benefits of skin perfecting.

Healthy Glow Illuminating Powder vs Bronzing Cream

I thought it might be interesting to show the shades next to the Les Beige Bronzing Cream to get an idea of shades:

Some Comparisons with Charlotte Tilbury & Guerlain

Also, some other brand comparisons sprung to mind, in particular the new Airbrush Bronzers from Charlotte Tilbury and the Guerlain Terracotta Nude universal glow powder.

As you can see, the Chanel has a much glowier finish as opposed to the Tilbury velvet matte.

As you can see, the Chanel really pops out there in the middle.

Healthy Glow Illuminating Powder vs Guerlain Terracotta Nude

Any I had to compare them both to one of my ultimate glowy skin perfecting powders, the Guerlain Terracotta Nude*. I absolutely adore this one.

I absolutely love these Chanel powders, but if I had to pick one based on universal glow, it would have to be the Guerlain. See the review here.
