An increasing number of businesses are being affected by online fraud and identity theft, leading to reputational damage and other negative outcomes.

A recent survey by the British Chambers of Commerce found that one-in-five businesses were affected by cybercrime in the previous year.

In most cases, firms can avoid becoming a victim by following simple rules and ensuring that security is second nature to everyone in the business.

Cumbria Chamber is running this event in partnership with Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office and Get Safe Online, a leading source of information and advice on online safety and security.

The speakers are:

Stephen Forster, National Communications Officer, National Trading Standards e-Crime Team;
Neena Shukla, Fraud Manager, Lloyds Banking Group;
Liz Stanton and Maria Booker, Get Safe Online.

There will also be presentation from Kaspersky Lab, the cybersecurity and antivirus provider. Each speaker will be followed by a short Q&A session.

Registration is from 9.45am for a 10am start and the event should finish around noon. Refreshments will be provided.
