The evolution of Atlantic Station, once sluggish, keeps gaining steam.

With hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space on the rise, a makeover of Central Park in the works, and much more developing around the Midtown shopping district, it’s been a magnet for development-related headlines the past couple of years.

Now, an updated vision for a hotel project at Atlantic Station has emerged online.

Renderings recently published by What Now Atlanta depict a dual-branded hotel that promises 265 rooms and a fall 2020 debut.

The hotel, designed by architecture firm Wakefield Beasley & Associates, would likely be comprised of a Springhill Suites and Tapestry Collection by Hilton component, according to the publication.

The project, developed by the Peachtree Hotel Group, is slated to rise at 301 17th Street, between the Twelve Midtown Hotel and the BB&T building.

The development site is currently little more than a sunken pit encased by Atlantic Station’s underground parking complex.

Officials from Hines, which owns Atlantic Station, did not immediately provide Curbed Atlanta with further information about the hotel project.

Meanwhile, just northwest of Atlantic Station, behind the Target, a new mixed-use project featuring 120,000 square feet of office space and 10,000 square feet of retail has been proposed.

That development is expected to be finished in 2021.
