Choose your one morning and/or one afternoon activity for each day

Open to youth ages 9-18, you don't have to be in 4-H to participate, all are welcome

Registration: $25/child, $10 for each additional child in the family

Scholarships available, apply in your registration

The Stay at Home Explorer, Part 1

Part of our Citizen Scientist series, where you will explore and observe the plant life in your own neighborhood. You'll also have the opportunity to collect and share data and look for interesting patterns in your observations.

Supplies Needed:

Computer, Paper, Pen/Pencil, Optional: Binoculars, art paper, poster board.

Make Your Own Lava Lamp

Spend the morning learning about lava lamps and the scientific principles that make them so cool! Then, design your own, choose your colors and make your own lava lamp right at home.

Supplies Needed:

  • A clean plastic bottle, try to use one with smooth sides

  • Water

  • Vegetable Oil (or you could use Mineral or Baby Oil instead)

  • Fizzing tablets (such as Alka Seltzer)

  • Food Coloring



Looking at Leaves

Leaves are everywhere! What do they do? Why are there so many shapes, sizes, colors? Become both a scientist and an artist as you collect samples, make observations and create a neat art project as we look more closely at leaves.

Supplies Needed:

  • 2 or 3 pieces of paper

  • Crayons

  • -Data Worksheet

  • -Pencil or Pen

  • -Hand Lens (optional)

Palling with Your Pen Pals/ Games

Practice your letter writing skills and write a fun letter to your friend. Let them know what you're up to, or tell them something you're looking forward to doing with them in the future! Ask them what they have been up to-- do they have any suggestions for activities to do at home?

Games: Have fun with your camp friends playing Zoom Games!

Yoga and You


Spend a half hour relaxing, unwinding, and learning some new yoga poses! Then join us in the kitchen as we make a healthy snack!

Supplies Needed:

  • Yoga mat

  • Apple, nut butter, toppings (almonds, pecans, coconut, chocolate chips, etc.)


Self Care 101: Mind, Body, and Self

These past few months have been pretty hectic and unusual, and you have likely experienced stressful feelings at some point. Join us for Self Care 101, where we'll engage in interactive activities that will help us recognize and respond to stress in helpful ways. We'll encourage positivity in ourselves and in each other and give you some tips and tricks to show your families!

Supplies Needed:

Journals or sheets of paper, Pencils

Junior Master Gardeners: The Buzz About Bees

Did you know that 1 in every 3 bites of food is made possible by bees and other pollinators. Let’s dig into some facts about the most common bee groups found in California and learn what you can do to provide a bee-friendly habitat.

Supplies Needed:

-Shallow pie or other pan, Tupperware container or dish that will hold water and can go outside

-Small rocks, glass marbles or glass rocks that will fit in selected container

Community Learning: Learn about your community and ways to connect with others from the comfort of your own home! You will have the opportunity to write and send a letter to someone in your community. Your letter might just make their day (or week)!

Ecosystem in a Bottle

What does an ecosystem need in order to survive and thrive? In this activity, you will learn about the balance of nature and how living and non-living elements are connected by making an ecosystem in a bottle.

Supplies Needed:

  • 2 liter soda bottle, scissors, aquarium rocks, a small water plant, water, 2 paper coffee filters, string, soil, and a small plant.

  • Optional: 2 freshwater snails or a small guppy or goldfish. If you put fish in your ecosystem, you will need fish food.
