The Native American Veteran Who Is Part Of National Controversy Starred In A 2012 Skrillex Music Video

Nathan Phillips is a Vietnam War Veteran and Native American elder. This week, many have learned his name due to the latest national controversy making the media rounds. If you are not familiar with the aforementioned video, a group of teenagers attending The March for Life can be seen standing face to face and confronting Phillips who was in DC for the Indigenous Peoples March.

Regardless of your political stance on the video or how you interpret the actions of either party, there is an interesting piece of this encounter. Nathan has an unlikely connection to the EDM world. In 2012, Phillips was featured in Skrillex and Damian Marley's music video for the collaboration, ‘Make It Bun Dem'.

This little fact has lead to hundreds sounding off in the comments claiming that since Phillips was in a music video once, he is actually a professional actor who somehow orchestrated the interaction which has become a media firestorm. There is no evidence to back up these claims.

Check out the music video below where Phillips runs into housing trouble before his son steps in and things get mystical.
