Research Start-Up Awards

Background

CanVECTOR Research Training Awards (fellowship, studentship) provide salary support for highly qualified, promising trainees or fellows to allow them to pursue research training in thromboembolism at a Canadian centre. The network and its partners have committed additional funding to support individual trainees’ research activities. These funds are intended to help trainees to achieve their research objectives. To this end, the funds may be used for start-up operating funds for a research project or preliminary/pilot work to strengthen their research, including services, materials, or supplies. This funding is not intended to provide salary support for trainees and the requested funds must not overlap with funding that’s available from other sources.

Research start-up funding is not intended to provide support for travel relating to any academic experiences (e.g. presentation of research work at a scientific conference).
