A new rumor suggests Warner Bros. is considering a trilogy focused on Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.

Geeks WorldWide reported a rumor about Harley Quinn's future in the DC Extended Universe. According to the site, Warner Bros. is looking to make Birds of Prey the first installment in a three-part story focused on the character. Gotham City Sirens will allegedly be the second film in the trilogy, following Harley Quinn as she moves from the heroic Birds of Prey to the more morally ambiguous Gotham City Sirens. The rumor suggests these two movies will build towards a third film: Birds of Prey v. Gotham City Sirens.

The report openly admits that this rumor is unconfirmed, though it does mention that DanielRPK asserted something similar. Depending on the success of Birds of Prey, these sorts of plans could change. However, this rumor would seem to explain why Gotham City Sirens was put on the back-burner when focus shifted to Birds of Prey.

Directed by Cathy Yan from a script by Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ewan McGregor, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau, Chris Messina, and Matthew Willig. It is scheduled to be released on Feb. 7, 2020.
