#ThankAMomThursday

Spring is in the air and Mother's Day is fast approaching!

So we asked Coldwell Banker Trails West Realty brokers what they'd like to thank their moms for. And for some of them, as hard-working mothers, what's so rewarding about being a mom in the first place.

This week, we chat with associate broker Sarah Ibarra about her sweet mom, Oralia!

What is a Mother's Day tradition for you and your family?

Each year for Mother's Day my mother, sister, and I spend the entire day together. I give her the choice of what she would like to do. As the older sister, I have always had the job of orchestrating the activities. She can choose anything from lunch and a movie to a hike and reading books together. She has a young spirit and finds joy in anything and everything we do. I strive to make it about her and my sister and I always pitch in for something very special to give her from the two of us. We spend the day together adoring our mother and rejoicing in her happiness.

What is a fond memory you share with your mother?
My fondest memories of my mother are all of the memories. She is such a beautiful soul and her warmth made growing up in such a loving and supportive environment so memorable. We laugh a lot now and did a lot then. She is like sunshine!

What is the most valuable lesson your mother taught you?
My mother has taught me so many valuable lessons. Perhaps the most valuable lesson I have learned and continue to use daily is the importance of my character. She taught my younger sister and me to always have a pure heart. Kindness is her motto and she has lived by that example my entire life.

What would you like to thank your mom for?
I would like to thank my mother for her unconditional love and for being the best example of what a strong, intelligent, confident, kind, and brave woman is supposed to be. She is the very definition of a mother. I hope that one day when I become a mother, I can be just like her and teach my children to enjoy life and to always have courage and to be kind.
