People have been showing their gratitude to the delivery drivers who are still out there working the daily grind by leaving out essentials like toilet roll and hand sanitiser - as you can see in the clip below:

These days, key household items like loo paper and hand sanitiser have become a bit of a currency in their own right, as many shoppers have been panic-buying them and snapping up all the stock (grrrrr).

This means that some people have been unable to buy the bits they need - which would no doubt be particularly frustrating if you've been out all day risking your own safety at work.

Well, in a slightly alternative display of gratitude, some people are showing their thanks to the delivery drivers by leaving out some essential goods, which they can take as and when they need for free.

Sharing the above TikTok video on Twitter, where it has now gone viral with more than 300,000 likes, one social media user wrote: "I'm going to cry."

Another Instagram post from a user called @drtyoda- who is also a courier - showed similar scenes elsewhere, with a photo of a box filled with drinks and toilet paper, with a message scrawled on that read: "Thank you for being committed to the human race, we are depending on you! Take anything you want! Spread love! Stronger TOGETHER."

In the caption @drtyoda said we need 'more of this', writing: "So. I'm a courier. I deliver to so many types of places everyday. Businesses, houses, apartments, hospitals, you name it, I'll deliver. This house I just left had this box on the porch. So thoughtful. So caring.

"In a time when people are panicking and hoarding everything for no really good reason, these people are willingly giving it away.

"We need waaaaay more of this. Everyone needs to see this."

They added: "PS, I didn't need anything, so I didn't take anything. That's how we also need to be."
