Man charged with shooting older brother during argument at DeSoto home

Police were called to the 200 block of Toucan Court about 11 a.m. Friday.

A DeSoto man was arrested Friday morning after police say he shot his brother during an argument.

Christopher Glenn Johnson, 31, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Johnson called 911 about 11 a.m. to report that he had shot his older brother, 38-year-old Darryl Johnson, at a home in the 200 block of Toucan Court, near Hampton and East Parkerville roads. When officers arrived they found Darryl Johnson, who had staggered out of the home, lying in the driveway.

Darryl Johnson, who had wounds to his neck and back, was taken to a hospital. An update on his condition was not available.

Officers took Christopher Johnson into custody. Police said they later seized a handgun from the home that they believe was used in the shooting.

Police did not offer a motive for what led up the argument. It was unclear whether Christopher Johnson had an attorney.
