Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has endorsed a romantic piece of fan art that shows Carol Danvers in a loving embrace with another one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most iconic female heroes.

The image from artist and character designer Beverly Love is a warm piece that shows Captain Marvel floating in the sky and carrying Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, who she's locked in a wistful gaze with. Larson fell in love with the image and posted it to her Twitter with the caption "We cute," which led to Thompson echoing her sentiments.

While the image is definitely a cute play on their friendship off-screen, it has also piqued fans' interest in the wake of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige indicating the next wave of the MCU will be more inclusive and diverse. The studio is set to have more LGBT characters and actors come into play with a gay lead reportedly being sought for The Eternals.

Coincidentally, Valkyrie was said to be bisexual but the shots depicting as such from Thor: Ragnarok were ultimately left on the cutting room floor. While some fans have been shipping Carol and Chris Hemsworth's Thor following their encounter in the latest Avengers: Endgame trailer, but many other fans believe there was some hidden potential gay subtext to Carol's character in Captain Marvel.

In any case, Captain Marvel and Valkyrie may very well share some screen time in Avengers: Endgame, which could mark their first shared cinematic appearance in the MCU.
