As the release date for Avengers: Endgame draws nearer, Marvel is taking a nostalgic look back at the seven years that have led up to now.A tweet posted by the official Marvel UK and Ireland account shows each of the four Avengers movie posters -- The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame -- morphing from one to the next.RELATED: Marvel Studios Wins the 10 Year Challenge With MCU Heroes

The first film, released in May 2012, served as both a launching pad for several characters and a culmination of the previous Marvel solo films. Iron Man, Thor and Captain America had each been at the helm of their own movies, but bringing them together alongside characters like Black Widow, The Hulk and others made The Avengers one of the biggest blockbuster ensembles of its time. Age of Ultron set new records in 2015, followed by the massive hit that was Infinity War in 2018.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe now ten years old, there have been no signs of its box office power weakening. The world has expanded, adding heroes like Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and more to its ranks. It's fun to look back at where it all began, but Marvel's eye is decidedly set in the future, with 2019's Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home and, of course, Endgame aiming to put its own past successes to shame.
