In just a few short weeks, the highly anticipated Arrowverse crossover event, titled "Elseworlds," will finally be upon us. It seems like it was so long ago that Stephen Amell first announced that Batwoman would join his Green Arrow, Grant Gustin's the Flash and Melissa Benoist Supergirl in the December-bound television event last summer. Now, after many casting announcements and bombshell revelations, such as the addition of Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane, LaMonica Garrett's all-powerful Monitor and John Wesley Shipp's 1990s' take on the Flash, the first teaser trailers for "Elseworlds" are finally being released.

What's more, following the first promo poster revealing Ruby Rose's Batwoman costume, we finally have a first look at the caped vigilante in the crossover itself. The image comes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and it features Rose's Batwoman, grapple gun in hand, getting ready to leap right into action.

According to the EW article, the picture comes from a scene where the caped crusader "uses her grapple hook and Batarang to stop two inmates from escaping Arkham Asylum," saving Amell's Green Arrow and Carlos Valdes' Cisco Ramon as a result. The episode was directed by James Bamford, who made it his goal to show all of Batwoman's weapons in action right from the get-go. "I wanted all of the bat toys to be revealed in one scene," he said.

The first mention of Gotham City was only recently made on an episode of Arrow, but soon all three main heroes from the Arrowverse -- The Flash, Supergirl and Green Arrow -- will be making the trip to Kate Kane's home city as they hunt for Arkham Asylum doctor John Deegan, played by Jeremy Davies. Just what the trinity of superheroes want with the doctor, however, remains to be seen.

After all, the "Elseworlds" crossover is shrouded in mystery. We know some very interesting details that are at play in the television event -- such as Barry and Oliver switching places, a black suit-wearing Superman, the Trigger Twins and the inclusion of the Kent farm -- but we still have no idea how all of the pieces of the puzzle fit together. All will be revealed next month.
