The Tulsa Police Department says two men were arrested Saturday night after a witness reported a drunk driver with a child in the car in east Tulsa.

The witness told police that he first saw the driver and the front-seat passenger drinking beer in the car near a taco stand on South Garnett Road around 9:30 p.m. He said he also saw a small child in the back seat of the car.

Police say the witness reported that the Nissan left the taco stand and stopped on the side of the road where the driver got out, urinated in public and drove off again.

Officers found the car near East 21st Street and found a 3-year-old child in the back seat. The child's father, Abiduad Orozco-Orozco, and the driver of the car, Kevin Vasquez, were severely intoxicated, police say.

Both claimed to be citizens of Guatemala and both were arrested for child endangerment.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Orozco-Orozco lied about his real name in an attempt to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant for DUI, according to police.

DHS and a Child Crisis Detective were called in on the case. Police say the child was released to the mother at the scene of the stop.
