ESPResSo

Efficient Structures and Processes for Reliable Perovskite Solar Modules

ESPResSo is increasing the maturity level of the novel emerging hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite-based solar cell (PSC) technology.

This technology has reached cell efficiency values rivalling those of established thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology and even approaching crystalline Silicon. The project is transferring this unprecedented progress from the cell level into a scalable, stable, low-cost technology at a module level.

The project will install an actual building-integrated facade element in order to validate the potential contribution of this technology to the future European energy supply system.

If successful, the project will demonstrate a highly efficient (>17%) perovskite-based 35x35cm² module architecture that shows long-term (>20 years) reliable performance which will allow a potential electricity cost of 0.05€/kWhe (in Southern Europe).
