New month, new partnership. Korporatio partners with Civic Technologies to automate the Know Your Customer (KYC) process during company incorporation.

If you are familiar with the blockchain space, you have probably heard of Civic and their identity verification solutions. If you don’t, here’s a quick summary to get you up to speed. Civic is a digital identity platform with an app that allows for  identity verification. On top, it allows people to retain control over their personal data. This means you can sign into a website, similar to “Sign up via Facebook”, with the added bonus that you can also add your ID and run KYC in one click.

About Civic Technologies

If you have ever signed up for a bank account, you know how repetitive the KYC process is. You need to upload multiple documents, the user interface is confusing, after you upload everything you might get rejected, and you need to start a long exchange of emails with the customer support team in order to explain everything that went wrong. After weeks, you are finally approved and can start to use the service you wanted. Now imagine a different process, one click and everything is done. Well, Civic is this.

About Korporatio

Korporatio is a service provider, so we don’t run sign up to access a platform. Anyway if you want to incorporate a Smart Company, we must run the KYC. Currently, our KYC is a bit ‘old school.’ Clients send the documents to us, and we run the process manually. We are faster than majority of other service providers, as we have a dedicated person for this. However, in order to improve the incorporation business, we had to to put the users first. Knocking on Civic’s door was an obvious first step.

The process

Here’s how it will work from now on. When you are going through our incorporation process and you reach the KYC requirements, you will have two options:

  1. Send us the documents as per usual, no changes.
  2. Click on a Call-to-Action (CTA) and run KYC via Civic. To do this you need to install the Civic App on your phone and have your identity safely verified. Once you have clicked the CTA, you will have to scan a QR code with your Civic App. After that, you will select the option to run the ID verification via Civic. That’s it! We will receive the verified KYC and pass the verification along to the government. It’s a solid win for our company and user alike.

This process is available from today to everybody who incorporates a Smart Company.

Our partner opinion

“We are pleased to welcome Korporatio to Civic’s Partner Network. This collaboration marks another milestone for Civic’s ecosystem and for on-demand, secure, and low-cost access to identity verification services,” said Civic CEO, Vinny Lingham.

Vinny cannot be more right on his words, this partnership showcases how blockchain technology can be used in the real world, and how a vision for a better, more secure future  can offer something not available in any other market.

Few words from our Advisor

The best way to complete this news is with someone who is a strenuous supporter of the separation of the right to one’s identity from one’s citizenship. We are happy to share some thoughts from our Advisor, Diego de Notaris: “Identity documents, KYC and AML were historically introduced in order to avoid fraud, illegal activity and scams. Other measures like VAT in Europe were introduced as emergency crisis measures but are still with us after generations. Blockchain is a wonderful tech because it establishes the premises for trustless identity, KYC and AML verifications. When we look back in another 20 years everybody will see that Satoshi Nakamoto initiated a process leading to the separation of the Money from the State. We are proud to be part of this process and offer our contribution to the separation of corporate and personal identity from the Jurisdiction(s) you chose to do business in.”
