The Beeboat Service is the perfect solution for discovering Lake Garda, the worlds most romantic lake! Here’s a few things to know about Lake Garda……

Lake Garda Geography……

If you’re a regular visitor to this website you probably know by now that Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake. It is 52km long and at it’s widest point it is 16km; it has a 150km coast line that runs through three regions of Italy…..Lombardy, Veneto and Trento, it is a body of water that covers 370km².

A brief history of Lake Garda……

Lake Garda has a history that dates back to 2000BC when it is believed the first settlement appeared. Roman, Scaglieri and Venetian influences provide endless amazement in the architecture and culture of the stunning towns that nestle on the crystal clear azzure Lake Garda water.

Lake Garda Geology……

Then of course there is the diverse landscape which provides jaw dropping wonderment in every direction. The Prealpi and Dolomites in the northern regions, with Monte Baldo on the east coast and the Parco Alto Garda of Brescia and Trentino on the west create an imposing Fjord like feel in the top half of the lake. The gently rolling moranic hills, with their vinyards and olive groves that circumvent the southern half and contribute to the lazy relaxed ambience that instantly envelops you when travelling this region.

Lake Garda Islands……

Lake Garda has five islands, the most famous being the Isola del Garda. With its own rich history, it’s imposing Venetian villa and elegant gardens provide a quintessential Lake Garda experience.

The history of the Bee Boat Service

Bee Boat Service is a young and dynamic ten year old family business, based in the beautiful holiday Town of Salò strategically located on Lake Garda and specialised in providing private boat trips for couples or families. The idea was born out of the passion and experience of skipper Mirco, who has always been a navigator together with the father, on the lakes in Northern Italy.

In 2015, after a successful first five years, Bee Boat Service has equipped themselves with a brand new and characteristic “typical Italian boat” a modern, elegant form but also a little retro. This boat is entirely handmade by the top South Italian masters boat builder, getting on board you immediately feel the Italian style. While sailing, the silence of its engine and the heavy boat with it’s fine mahogany finish, you know for sure that you are on board a higher quality craft rather than the usual fiberglass motorboats.

Beeboat 1

The Bee Boat mk2 was styled on the famous ‘Gozzo Sorrentino’, and built by a famous master boat builder, but because of Mirco’s dedication to provide the perfect design for his customers he drove around 1900km a month (sometimes twice) to check on the progress and to add his personal design touches. The result is one of the finest boats on Lake Garda.

Why name this boat the Bee Boat you might ask? The boat is named after Mirco’s original boat that had stripes down the sides, many children commented on how it looked like a bee and so became know as the ‘Bee Boat’ before being called it.
