Lopetegui, on whether he feels backed by Real Madrid: Absolutely

LaLiga Santander Under pressure after four successive matches without scoring

Levante will hope to pile the pressure on Julen Lopetegui and Real Madrid by taking at least a point from their upcoming fixture, however amidst reports of tension in the Spanish capital the former Porto coach has made clear he feels supported by those in power at the club.

Recent results simply haven't been good enough with Los Blancos failing to score in their last four matches in all competitions and speculation has risen that Lopetegui may well be fighting for his job.

"Absolutely, [I feel supported by the club], I'm calm in this moment and focused on my work," he explained in his pre-match press conference.

"We expect a difficult match against a team that have improved in all aspects and has won their last two matches.

"They have an effective attacking focus, but I trust in our quality and our team."

Florentino Perez has been widely criticised for not backing Lopetegui with significant outfield signings during the summer transfer window, especially considering Cristiano Ronaldo departed for Juventus, however the former Spain coach isn't yet looking towards winter reinforcements.

"I have full confidence in the squad that I have, I'm convinced of what we're trying to do," he admitted.

"There is a lot of the season left, and I'm sure that we'll be strong at the end of the campaign.

"We'll have great matches and a great season and Levante will demand the best Real Madrid."

The aforementioned goal drought is scarcely believable when you look at the attacking talent at Lopetegui's disposal, yet there has been a crisis of confidence ever since the Champions League victory over Roma.

"We'll try to focus on one match at a time, we want to create many chances and then hopefully convert them," he confirmed.

"It's important to forget external factors, we aren't looking at what people say on the outside.

"We want to add the three points to our tally that will take us to the top of the table."
