Girls Primary School Competition

The NSFA provides over 17,800 members between North Sydney and Brooklyn the opportunity to play football each weekend in local community competitions from ages Under 6 – Over 45’s.The Skellern Cup intends to promote the continued growth of primary school aged girls participating in our weekly competitions.

The event aspires to celebrate girls playing football, bringing together regular players and non-players to showcase the inclusiveness, enjoyment and camaraderie football as a sport provides.

The Skellern Cup is FREE to enter for all schools based in the NSFA region!

2025 Tournament Details

The next NSFA Skellern Cup will take place in 2025 at North Turramurra Recreation Area, providing all primary school aged girls in Year 3 – 6 the chance to take part in our association wide football gala day. Date are to be confirmed soon.

Junior Skellern Cup (7v7 playing format): DATES TO BE CONFIRMED (Years 3 and 4)

Senior Skellern Cup (9v9 playing format): DATES TO BE CONFIRMED (Years 5 and 6)

Each day will bring together schools and girls from throughout the Northern Suburbs of Sydney, inviting over 40 schools, stretching from Neutral Bay to Brooklyn. Each school can nominate up to 4 teams, with a competition winner awarded following our unique points system. 

The day intends to celebrate girls playing football, bringing together regular players and non-players to showcase the inclusiveness, enjoyment and camaraderie football as a sport provides.

2024 Skellern Cup

Our BIGGEST Skellern Cup to date was held in March 2024 and we had over 900 participants across the 2 days and a total of 75 teams entered into the cup! What a fantastic achievement by all involved!

Congratulations to Roseville Public School on winning the Junior Competition for the 2nd time and to  Pymble Ladies College for their first win in the Seniors competition, what an amazing achievement by both schools.

2023 Skellern Cup

Local Primary schools enjoy 2023 Skellern Cup!

Congratulations to Gordon East Public School on winning the Junior Competition for the 2nd time and to Roseville Public School for winning in the Seniors competition for the 2nd year in a row, what an amazing achievement by both schools.

Behind the Name

The Skellern Cup is named after Amanda and Kimberley Skellern, twin sisters who have played representative club football for Northern Tigers FC for over 10 years after beginning their football careers at local club West Pymble FC. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Skellern sisters over the two days who will be on hand to motivate teams, give advice and soak up the atmosphere!
