Man found shot to death at Dewitt Street and Bailey Avenue identified

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting.

The shooting happened at the corner of Dewitt Street and Bailey Avenue just before 1:30 p.m.

Officers found an unresponsive black male lying at the corner. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshots to the upper part of his body and had died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Cedric Willis.

Officers were told that several shots were heard by residents in the area, but there is still no suspect information or motive.
