The Spring Racing Carnival is an exciting two-month long event which features dozens of thoroughbred horse races. Races are held several times a week throughout the months of October and November.

What is the Spring Racing Carnival?
Just as its name suggests, the Spring Racing Carnival is a huge party for the city of Melbourne. In addition to horse races, there are multiple events where you can sample food and drink from vendors from all over Australia, dress up in some of the finest fashion trends to raise money for charities and party the night away after a race.
The Spring Racing Carnival ends on a high note with a national holiday, The Melbourne Cup which is held on the first Tuesday of November.

Event Details for the 2017 Spring Racing Carnival
Races are held throughout October and November. For the 2017 Spring Racing Carnival, the dates for our favourite races are as follows:
- The Caulfield Cup – 21 October
- Cox Plate – 28 October
- Derby Day – 4 November
- Cup Day – 7 November
- Oaks Day – 9 November
- Stakes Day – 11 November
Anyone who wishes to attend the races, which are held at both the Caulfield and Flemington Racecourses, must purchase a ticket. Tickets vary in price but usually start at $45 for adults. Children, who are classified as under the age of 16, are often free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
