Georgia Judge Who Ruled Error-Filled Ballots To Be Counted Donated Thousands To Democrats

Georgia Democrats continue to fight to close the gap in votes between Democrtic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp while interesting new details emerge.

“A U.S. District Court Judge in the Northern District of Georgia’s Atlanta Division ruled Tuesday that ballots in one of the state’s counties must be counted, even if the “birth year” on the voter registration is omitted.” Big League Politics reported Tuesday morning.

Judge Leigh Martin May sits on the bench of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. But she is also a Democrat donor, having given $1250 to Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) during his 2012 campaign.

May’s donation is significant. Only .42 percent of Americans donate more than $200 to any political candidate, according to OpenSecrets. It just so happens that a judge deciding whether certain ballots should be counted is part of that .42 percent, that she donated to a Democrat and that she donated substantially more than $200.

In the 2008 election, that put Barack Obama in the White House, May donated $1,000 to a Democrat PAC strangely named Georgia Federal Election Committee that shelled out cash to state Democrat parties across the country. Maybe the odd naming of the group was to hide the true nature of the donation?

For his part, Bishop Tweeted before the election that he was concerned with voter eligibility in Georgia.

“I am deeply disappointed w/ the DOJ’s response to concerns surrounding voter access in GA. The right to vote is fundamental to our democracy & we must safeguard & protect this right regardless of politics or ideology. DOJ’s refusal to act is profoundly troubling,” he said.

Democrats in Georgia claim that there are enough votes still left uncounted to force a Dec. 4 runoff between Kemp and Abrams.

Abrams’ sister, Leslie Abrams, is a U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, as reported by Big League Politics.

The Abrams campaign is currently phone-banking and sending emails to potential voters in order to “find” provisional ballots that may not have been counted. Big League Politics reported:

The blatant push by Democrats to extend voting after Election Day in certain counties is in full swing, with the liberal mainstream media taking the side of the Democrat cause and the American people scrambling to preserve our Republic in the face of radical left-wing attacks on our election integrity.

The Stacey Abrams campaign is actively phone-banking to find provisional ballots, and voters are also receiving text messages asking them if they filed provisional ballots.

Big League Politics has obtained one of the text messages to voters: “URGENT: GA  gov vote is TOO close to call. Today is the last day provisional ballots can still be counted. Did you submit a PROVISIONAL ballot at polls on Tues?”

Here is an email that her campaign is sending out:

“Today is our LAST DAY to find and count every single provisional ballot.

So if you cast a provisional ballot on Tuesday, we need you to call our Voter Protection Hotline at 1-888-730-5816 immediately. Our team can tell you if your ballot was counted, and if it was not, we can help you with next steps.

And please, help us spread the word to every Georgian you know. Forward this email to your friends, post on Facebook, call your relatives. Everyone needs to know this information.

We’re going to make sure every vote is counted.

Thanks for your help,

– Team Abrams”
