Ipswich among the top ten places to live

Ipswich was ranked 7th in the London Economic top ten best up and coming places to live in the UK, replacing its former industrial status.

One of the reasons for Ipswich becoming more desirable is the years of investment, with dramatic changes taking place to the wet dock area in particular. There has also been a number of new developments, including out of town retail parks, the university, residential blocks and improvements to the infrastructure.

This has transformed Ipswich into an ideal location for those working in London, which is just over an hour away by train. Ipswich also benefits from the seaside town of Felixstowe being on its door step and having a rich history with places such as Christchurch Mansion welcoming visitors from across East Anglia.

According to Attwells Solicitors conveyancing expert, Stuart Milbourne, Ipswich houses achieved an average asking price of £273k in July. During the last year, sold prices in Ipswich were 5% up on the previous year and 13% up on the year before.

Managing Partner, Nick Attwell explains why this news is so good for investors; “Ipswich as the county town of Suffolk is a town on the way up. Within reasonable reach of London and with improvements in rail to follow property prices are affordable. A place to watch for investors interested in a fair yield and a reasonable prospect of capital growth.”
