Porto no match for rampant Liverpool

Oporto vs LiverpoolSet up date with Barcelona

Liverpool comprehensively took care of business away at Porto in their Champions League quarter-final second leg to win 4-1, sending them through by a 6-1 aggregate score.

Any doubts that existed prior to kick-off were soon forgotten when Sadio Mane gave the Reds a three-goal lead on aggregate and, crucially, an away goal that the Portuguese side hadn't managed at Anfield.

It took until 20 minutes into the second half for the second as Mohamed Salah scored his first Champions League goal away from Merseyside this season. Trent Alexander-Arnold picked out the Egyptian with an excellent through ball that allowed him to finish.

Real Madrid-bound Eder Militao made the game somewhat interesting by pulling one goal back, but there was never any real hope that the effort would change the outcome.

And so it proved. Within ten minutes Roberto Firmino killed the game after Jordan Henderson found him with an excellent cross, which the Brazilian brilliantly dispatched with his head.

Virgil van Dijk got involved himself with just over five minutes to play, by which time the game's outcome was well known.
