Certificate Supplement

Certificate Supplement

What is it?

The Certificate Supplement is a document that can be issued alongside a vocational qualification certificate; it provides additional information about the qualification itself and the qualification system in which it is issued.

The information it provides adds to that already included in the official certificate and/or transcript, making it more easily understood, especially by employers or institutions abroad.

Who is it for?

The Europass Certificate Supplement is issued to holders of a Vocational Education and Training Certificate.

What it is not?

The Europass Certificate Supplement is not:

·        a substitute for the original diploma or degree

·        an automatic system that guarantees recognition

Where can it be obtained?

In the UK, the UK National Europass Centre encourages awarding organisations to issue the Certificate Supplement; however, there is no legal requirement for them to do so. Many institutions see the benefit of the Certificate Supplement and will issue the document.

As the Europass centre, we are not in a position to produce the documents ourselves, and do not have a remit to do so. Therefore, all individuals have to contact their awarding organisations to obtain the document.

If an institution would like to issue a Europass Diploma Supplement, please contact your National Europass Centre for more information.

The UK National Europass Centre can be contacted on info@europass.org.uk
