Greenville artist Steve Azar’s career has diversified since his early 2000s breakout on the country music charts. While he is involved in producing, has a radio talk show and is Mississippi’s music and culture ambassador, what helped make him famous – performing live music – will bring him to the Amory Railroad Festival Friday.

AMORY – This year’s Amory Railroad Festival, like several others in the past, coincides with the Masters, one of the PGA’s highest profile tournaments of the year. Friday night Railroad Festival headliner Steve Azar, coincidentally, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top five celebrity musician golfers.

The Greenville native has a long-running tradition this time of year by participating in Monday After the Masters, a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina celebrity pro-am golf tournament. The event’s popularity has swelled through the years thanks to Hootie and the Blowfish’s role in making it happen.
