The T-800 has a pretty tough task ahead of him in Terminator: Dark Fate – take down the new Rev-9 prototype, destroy Skynet once and for all… and clear out the drapes from his car boot.

No, we're not actually joking. Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that part of the way Dark Fate rewrites the history of the franchise is by explaining what the T-800 has been doing since Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

"The Terminator has been, you know, around," Arnie joked during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. "He has been terminating things, busy, working overtime!

"Also, at the same time, he has lived now enough time with human beings that he actually has acquired some kind of human behaviours."

And, as Graham pointed out, one of those human behaviours is making a living. Therefore, viewers will be seeing the T-800 at his day job in the new film.

"In order to infiltrate, and in order to blend in, I'm a drapery salesman," Schwarzenegger revealed. "That's actually Jim Cameron's idea, but I then developed the character a little bit more and improvised some of the lines."

So if you ever need the planet saved from a maniacal cybernetic hive-mind… and fancy some pleats on a runner at the same time, the T-800 is your man! Err, machine!

The Graham Norton Show airs Friday nights at 10.30pm on BBC One.

Terminator: Dark Fate has an October 25 release date in the UK. It's out in cinemas on November 1 in the US.
