New Year's with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle Book 6) Kindle Edition
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Emmett's story ...
Single dad of Seattle, Dr. Emmett Strong doesn't believe in soulmates. Not since his ex-wife blindsided him with divorce papers, breaking not just his heart, but his daughter's, as well. Eighteen months later, it's just the two of them and he intends to keep it that way. He won't hurt Josie again by bringing another woman into her life. However, fate has other plans and on New Year's Eve, sparks instantly fly when he bumps into the intriguing and beautiful Zara.
Single mom and flower shop owner, Zara Olsen, has no time--or patience--for wishy-washy men who can't commit, so she's definitely not going to fall for the unavailable doctor. But when Emmett keeps getting thrown into her path, and the two wind up at the same New Year's Eve party, she wonders if fate is trying to tell her he's not so unavailable after all. He's funny and kind, the chemistry between them is sizzling and it's almost midnight. It must be time for a kiss. But when she finally gives in to their attraction, she begins to regret it when Emmett starts acting strange.
Can Emmett set aside the past and reach for the bright future he could have with Zara, or will this New Year's with the Single Dad end up being one Zara will remember, but would rather forget?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

About the author

A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn’t end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it’s not quite wine o’clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2022Great job writing about Emmett & Zara & JoJo & Nolan ! It took Emmett awhile to realize the constant need to have everything in strick order would cause Zara to not be a part of his life . She did an awesome job raising her son & JoJo loved him as her big brother, & JoJo loved her ,too. Zara stopped overthinking everything. Getting married was next for them ! You were awesome writing about single dads & single moms when they become attracted to each other !!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2021This book was the wonderful mix of sweet, steamy, hilarious, angsty, healing, and swoony. Emmett is an ER physician and a single dad. He’s jaded about love after he was blindsided by his divorce. Zara is a single mom and a florist. She still believes in love. A series of unrelated encounters between Zara and Emmett in a 24 hour period seem to be driving them together and the sparks are undeniable. But to get to their HEA they both need to look at and deal with their baggage. There was growth for both characters and the interactions with their children made the characters more relatable and real. This is a new to me author and I will definitely read more from her.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2024Love this book! Great story of a couple who’s past relationships were painful and how they made each other happy!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2021They meet while ordering breakfast to go at the local coffee shop, ordering the same exact breakfast at the same time. They chatted while waiting for their orders and flirted a bit. That day was like fate was trying to tell them something because they ran into each other four times. Really sweet story with just a bit of steam
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2023What happens when two strangers order exactly the weird breakfast? Zara is a florist. She has to make a run to the ER when she cuts her hand.
Emmett is an ER doctor. A patient comes in the ER and he is surprised that the breakfast stranger is in his room.
But will Emmett’s rules cause major conflict between the two of them?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2023This book is awesome, fantastic fabulous and must have. Warning you that Like me you won't be putting it down until the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2022I was looking for a New Year’s Eve book and this was a good choice. Most of the book covers New Year’s Eve and the first day they met. A series of coincidences had them ending up at the same party after crossing paths more than once that day. Their children were at the party, too.
For a series, I like whole single dad group. Several of them make quick appearances in this story. The first few encounters between Emmett and Zara were hot then went cold real fast. Feelings were hurt easily. I think I was not totally okay with the instability between the two not being adequately resolved, in my opinion, before we jumped into the epilogue two years later.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2021Another book of single dad's of Seattle with different two main characters but still read about so.e of the others in prior books and some up and coming books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read one book as a stand alone.......had me hooked
So I initially read Masons story, and was that intrigued with the other single dads stories I had to start from book 1.
That being said any of the books can be read as stand alone but I tend to get invested in characters and like to know everything there is to know.
Really enjoyed Emmett and Zara's story - the story had a nice feel good vibe throughout.
My favourite single dad story so far has been Zak's and Christmas with the Single Dad, but I have really enjoyed ALL of the stories and I'm looking forward to March for the next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kismet
The fates know Zara amd Emmett are soul mates but it will take this man a hard reality check and one strong woman to realize that life is short, all women aren't like his ex, and love is a gift and so are second chances. Great characters, tons of heat and a lovely story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy Cajun Book Addicts
We are once again back with the Single dads of Seattle. New Year's with the Single Dad was such a grest story. Its sexy, funny and also brought a tear to my eye and I loved every second.
After been served with divorce papers completely out of the blue Dr Emmett Strong is very sceptical about starting a new relationship. He has his adorable 5 year old daughter Jojo and she's his number one priority, but when he meets local florist and single mom Zara alot can change in just 24hrs.
Another fabulous installment from Whitley Cox and I cant wait for more!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice
This is a cute and unassuming book. It's enjoyable, well written and rather uncomplicated, making it an ideal way to pass an afternoon. I really liked the relationship between each adult and their respective offspring.
