NVME-202-1: PCIe/NVMe Storage (NVMe Track)
Paper Title: Building Storage Systems for the Burst Blockchain Platform

Paper Abstract: Blockchain is an area of tremendous interest for financial applications. Market researchers predict a total market in the billions by 2024 with double-digit growth rates. Obviously, this has huge implications for storage companies, since blockchain has tremendous storage needs with its long chains of transactions that never get deleted. Fast storage is essential, particularly for often referenced transactions, and low latency is vital. The open-source Burst platform has achieved widespread interest as a way to connect people, companies, and financial institutions, allowing users to exchange value, create payment channels, and build applications that can avoid downtime, censorship, fraud or third-party interference. NVMe technology can improve its turnaround latency and build blocks faster. Standard security protocols allow anonymization as well as protection of users and vendors. The current international situation surely creates an environment in which trust-free transactions are essential, so companies should begin now to establish a position in this important new technology.
