This week’s new streaming entertainment releases include the Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell hit romantic comedy “Anyone But You” hitting Netflix, two teen ghost detectives who appear in DC comic books star in their own series called “Dead Boy Detectives" and a documentary detailing Bon Jovi’s rise to fame, breakups and breakdowns. Also, everyone’s favorite dancing demon doll “M3GAN” is coming back to Peacock, Idris Elba and Adam Pally reprise their “Sonic the Hedgehog” characters for the new animated series “Knuckles” and an album by Brazil superstar Anitta is on tap titled “Funk Generation.”

The White House is aiming to correct the short staffing at nursing homes that was exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The federal government for the first time is requiring minimum staffing levels at federally funded nursing homes. Vice President Kamala Harris announced the new rule on Monday in Wisconsin, where she met with nursing home care workers. It was her third visit to the battleground state this year as she and Democratic President Joe Biden campaign for reelection in November. The American Health Care Association says the rule creates “an impossible task for providers” during an industry-wide staffing shortage. Emerging cicadas are so loud in one South Carolina county that residents are calling the sheriff’s office asking why they can hear sirens or a loud roar. The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office sent out a Facebook message Tuesday letting people know that the whining sound is just the male cicadas singing to attract mates after more than a decade of being dormant. Some people have even flagged down deputies to ask what all the noise is about. Trillions of red-eyed periodical cicadas are emerging from underground in the eastern U.S. this month. The broods emerging are on 13 or 17 year cycles.
