Sheffield United key man returns to training – it will feel like a new signing

Sheffield United key man Paul Coutts returns to training after breaking his leg last season, confirmed by James Shield.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says that key man Paul Coutts returns to training after breaking his leg last season.

Paul Coutts claimed he had no hard feelings over the tackle that ended his season early on, but admitted that he was surprised not to hear from Marvin Sordell after his “lazy” tackle broke his leg.

A few months ago Paul Coutts told The Star: “I’m getting there now.”

”I started running last week at the EIS on the anti-gravity treadmill, so it’s not full body weight but I’m getting there. I’ve unfortunately run out of time this season so I think it’ll be pre season before I’m back.”

“I’m not sure how breaking your leg can be lucky but I was told I was lucky, as leg breaks go, because it was a clean break that didn’t need an operation, and the bone was only ten per cent unaligned.”

“Everything so far has gone to plan, I’m slightly ahead of schedule and should be okay for pre-season.”

About Paul Coutts –

Paul Coutts joined Sheffield United from Derby County during the January transfer window of 2015 by Nigel Clough for an undisclosed fee.

The former Peterborough and Preston midfielder, began his career in his native Scotland with Aberdeen and Cove Rangers, enjoyed his best season in 2016/17 for Sheffield United, figuring heavily in Sheffield United’s promotion back to the Championship and in July penned a new two-year deal with the club.
